Summer in Samar
Welcome to our Blog!
Greetings! Welcome to our Blog!
For our PERSEF1 class, we are required to make a meaningful project that (in a way) impacts the audience. And so, after much deliberation, we came to a decision that our project will be a blog about Samar. We chose to do a blog because we want to promote the Philippines by showcasing its natural beauty; and what better way than to show you Samar, one of the best places to visit in the Philippines?
So how many islands are known for it's beauty here in the Philippines? If you take a look at the Philippines as a whole, you would find out that there are hundreds of other islands of that are of Samar's caliber. The list is endless! Procuring a blog that showcases all of those individual islands would take me as long as one would take to finish a report on every single grain of rice in a granary!
Although we hardly believe those words ourselves, saying that a grain of Samar is just a diamond speck in our beautiful country would just be an understatement.
And while we can't create a blog about every other visit-worthy place in the Philippines, we can however make a blog about Samar. A Samar that, like a star, shines brightly here in the Orient.

Spice of Life Beach Resort
Spice of Life is a beach resort that is just beside the hi-way. So its just really easy to get there.
Spice of Life is just like the other beach resorts I've introduced, White Beach resort for example. It has fine and white sand, etc But the only thing that make it stand out from the others is the view. You could see ships "roros" pass by, its because of the area, the beach resort is near a dock in Allen. So if you enjoy looking at ships pass by you could go here and see it for you selves,
Here are some photos of Spice of Life:( We dont own the pictures, we simply borrowed them for this blog)

White Beach Resort
Here, the beach has fine, white sand and a calm sea water. So if you enjoy playing in the sand or if your kids do, then this is the place for you. The beach only has little waves. Although it has little waves some people skim-board here.
In this resort they also have a pool, so if you are don't want to swimming in the beach, you could go swim in the pool.
Here are some picture on White Beach Resort: (We do not own the pictures, we just borrowed them for this blog)
Pink Beach - San Vicente N. Samar
Why is it called the pink beach yo ask? Well as from the name the sand in the beach is colored pink. As for the explanation on why the sand is pink i don't really know.
If you would like to go to a beach with a different atmosphere as the famous beaches we have to day like Boracay, this is the beach for you. Here in the pink beach it is much more quieter than in those famous beaches like Boracay. And also here in pink beach it also has clear and blue waters. You could see the coral reef and the fishes that live their. So... for the people who like to scuba dive you could visit this place to enjoy visiting.
Here are some pictures on the Pink Beach: (We do not own the pictures, we just borrowed it for this blog).
San Antonio N. Samar
If festivals are your thing then your in luck because San Antonio annually holds their Manoglaya Festival" every second week of June.
If you are more of a cliche kind of person and you want to swim, San Antonio offers a smorgasbord of resorts. Some of the places to go are the Crystal Sand Beach Resort, Island Beach Resort and the "King" of San Antonio beaches: Dalupiri Island. And also in this island the beach has no waves so you could enjoy the clear and calm water of San Antonio. And to all the scuba divers out there, you could also enjoy looking at the coral reefs and the fishes that lives here, thanks to the clear water here.
Here are some pictures of San Antonio: (We do not own the pictures, we just borrowed them for this blog)
Biri "The Rock" Island
Far from the image of a rock as a dull, gray and lifeless object, Biri is like the canvass of mother nature where she shaped the immobile earth into iconic landscapes that puts concrete art to shame.
Location: Biri, N. Samar
The rock formations are what people go there for. If you don't know what they look like, don't worry because we borrowed a few pictures from the internet for your viewing convenience (thanks to them for capturing such beautiful scenery in photo) .
Looks great right? These are just two of the famed rock formations. The seven prominent rock formations are called Magasang, Bel-at, Magsapad, Caranas, Macadlaw, Puhunan, and Pinahawan.
In Biri island their are 3 amazing little islands you could go enjoy going to, to look at rock formation. The names of these 3 little islands with rock formations are Talisay, Magesang and Cagnipa. Initially the place is called Biri island and not each of the names they have. A little known fact about the islands is that these are passed by the Spaniards ships to go to Capul.
Although Biri island is know for its rock formations, you could also swim in some parts of the island. There are small body of waters that could let you enjoy swimming in this places.
Here aresome other Photos on Biri island: (Again these Photos are not ours, we just borrowed them for the blog)

More beaches in Samar
When you visit Samar, you would be probably be a bit more bored than usual because this whole travel blog is like a giant spoiler. Please keep in mind about the true essence of traveling: the spirit of adventure. You should not travel simply because we told you that an attraction in Sama ris so and so. We only showed the obvious places which is just about 70% of the whole picture. Sometimes it's just better to get lost in walking around Samar in order to find secret spots that may sooner or later be a significant spot for you that can be considered your "personal area". The whole essence of traveling is not to go from point A to point B, but rather to explore more from the ground you covered.
We hope that you find your future trips in Samar to be a true Adventure!
Peace!
